Definition : Kamasutra, also known in the West as Kama Sutra, is an ancient Indian text widely known as the basic manual of love in Sanskrit literature.
A small part of the group deals with women and men sexual behaviour. Kama is the Sanskrit word for "desire" and "intention", but it also has de meanings of "pleasure" and "(sexual) love".
Used a first name, this word refers to Kama, the Hindu god of love. So, Kamasutra is a guide about how to enjoy sensorial pleasures in the environment of a virtuous life, and not quite a book about the search of pleasure.
Sometimes, Kamasutra is mistakenly confused with a tantric sex handbook. Even though there are suck sexual practices in the great Indian tantra culture, Kamasutra is not this kind of book and it doesn't deal with any of the sex rituals associated with tantra.
